Author Uncovered: Elizabeth Scott (Author Interview)

Hiya guys!!! This is my fifth Secret Agent Uncovered and I was so excited to be interviewing Elizabeth Scott!!! Her books are amazing! Expect reviews in the near future! Thanks Elizabeth!

Her books (currently):

Upcoming books:
And much more but they don't have any covers yet...

Did you always want to become an author?
Nope! I had no interest in writing at all when I was young, and actually didn't start writing until I was 27. (!)

Who or what was your inspiration for Something, Maybe?
I wanted to write a romance--a straight-out love story....but none of the ideas I was playing with were grabbing me. And then I thought of a title. That's right--the story came from the title! But here's the catch: the title was originally Live! Nude! Mom. As soon as I thought of that, Hannah, and everything that happens to her, fell into place. However, the title ended up being changed (it happens quite a lot, actually) and turned into Something, Maybe--but I'll always think of Live! Nude! Mom. with fondness because without it, I never would have known about Hannah and her story! (As an interesting side note, some copies of Perfect You are out there with an excerpt from Something, Maybe under the title Live! Nude! Mom.)

How does it feel like, knowing your books are on those bookshelves in a bookstore?
It's AMAZING.

Did you base any of your characters on real people?
No--writing about imaginary people is SO much more fun!

What are your ten, most favorite things?
My husband, my dog, my friends, books, rain, snow, cake, the sound of the ocean, fritos, and anything that inspires me

What is your typical day?
I usually get up around 6 and work till 9 or so answering email, blogging, checking facebook, my space, twitter, etc. Then I run errands and exercise and after lunch, write for about five hours. If I'm really into something, or have copyedits or page proofs to look at plus whatever else I'm working on, I'll work from 6-6.

What is your favorite type of drink?
Water.

Do you have any upcoming books?
Yep! I have three coming out next year: The Unwritten Rule (Simon Pulse) will be in stores on April 6, 2010, and it will be followed by Miracle (HarperCollins, June) and Grace (Dutton, Fall).

WOW! That's a lot of books! Be sure to keep an eye out for these fabulous future-releases!

I love her! She's so nice and it's hard to believe her characters are imaginary-they seem so real.
