Author Uncovered: Carolyn MacCullough (Author Interview)
Hey folks! Today, I have the pleasure of interviewing Carolyn MacCullough, author of Once A Witch (which is a great book!). I just reviewed Once A Witch over here, so check it out!
Her books:
Did you always want to become an author?
Yes! Although, I always wanted to be a lot of other things as well--like a famous ballerina, a pilot, and a princess.
Who or what was your inspiration Once a Witch?
All of my stories start with the main character--I hear them in my head telling me their side of things. Tamsin's voice was so clear from the get go that I knew I had to write her story.
How does it feel like, knowing your books are on those bookshelves in a bookstore?
It's always a really exciting thing to walk into a bookstore and see your book on a shelf!
Did you base any of your characters on real people?
Sure--I think a lot of writers do. We can't help it! But I think my characters end up being a blend of other people and bits of myself as a teenager as well.
What are your ten, most favorite things?
Wow--like ten most favorite foods? Ten favorite books? Hmmmm...not in any parituclar order. Long vacations, pasta, books, eating popcorn and watching a great movie, horseback riding, writing (of course!), chocolate cake, autumn weather, that perfect pair of jeans, my family.
What is your typical day?
It used to be that I would get up, make coffee, try some writing, spend some time outdoors, etc. Now that I just had a baby girl--there's no typical day anymore! She calls the shots at the moment! I'm lucky if I can make a cup of tea!
What is your favorite type of drink?
Hot chocolate. Or maybe good coffee. Okay, a compromise--a mocha.
Do you have any upcoming books?
Yes! The sequel to Once a Witch--titled, Always a Witch should be coming out in Fall 2010.
That's it! I can't wait for Always A Witch already! Also, a BIG CONGRATS to Carolyn on her baby girl and her release week!!!!!!!!!!!!! :-)
