The Dark Side of Blogging PART 2 - HORRID!
Hey again. When my younger sister checked her blog, she found an extremely mean comment on her cbox. This is what it said:
pissed off: you are even worse than your sister! stop asking for arcs! and how dare you not share them.I'm extremely disappointed in whoever did this. Me and my sister only started requesting a few ARCs this September. I cannot stress enough the fact that WE DID NOT START OUR BLOGS TO GET FREE BOOKS! I am so annoyed with this person. It is so disappointing how people judge others.
Also, I'd like to thank these first few amazing bloggers who were the ones who supported me and my sister:
Kelsey - The Book Scout
Steph Bowe - Hey, Teenager of the Year!
Wendy - The Book Lush
Alaine - Queen of Happy Endings
Donna - The First Novels Club
Lizzy - Cornucopia of Reviews
Elnice - Ellz Reads
Thank you guys! So much! You guys are the best!
Peace, love, and books,

I'd say it's the same person. How awful - I don't think they get that there really are enough books to go around.
Jealousy is an ugly green monster!
I cannot believe that people can be so cruel.
You and your sister are two of my favorite bloggers. You're both sweet, and absolute joys to have in the YA community.
Seriously? Just look at it this way: Both your blog & your sister's blog are good enough that publishers want the two of you to review their books, and whoever this *brat* is obviously doesn't make the cut. There's no need to defend yourself against idiocy.
Like I wrote on your sister's blog. This person is just trying to be mean. It's sad that someone has to make themselves feel better about their awfulness by being awful to other people.
I agree with the commenter who mentioned jealousy. You and your sister are obviously exceptionally bright and you have terrific blogs. So somebody gets mean and snarky about what you've accomplished here. More (((HUGS)))
Thanks for thanking me(: Sorry you and your sister had to deal with this! Don't worry about it you totally deserve the books. Hopefully it won't happen again!
That person is jealous! Just don't let them get to you!
Very horrid! I think your blog is great :) and you always have great interviews, so I commend you!
Also, seriously, I think people who leave comments like that don't understand how the process works - I would hope that they wouldn't say that if they knew any better.
Like I said in the other post- just laugh at them. Book bloggers do authors/publishers favors by reviewing books. You and your sister are doing absolutely nothing wrong. I'm pretty positive this person just ha a blog that's going nowhere, and is very jealous of you.
You and your sister just keep being awesome. :)
That's just those kind of spiteful remarks that don't even deserve a response. I love your blog, and I hope you keep up the great work! (:
That was very spiteful and mean. People are just jealous of your lovely blog page. :) I wouldn't pay them any attention.
I know that you are a new blogger but you are always reviewing books, it's not like you or your sister just get books for the sake of getting free books. It's obvious you both put a lot of effort into those blogs. Don't listen to what those people say they're just jealous of your awesome blogs.
So Mean! It makes me so sad that this happened to you and your sister,I agree with Jenn, those kind of comments don't deserve a response, just remember you have lots of people who support you, and love your blog. Keep up the great reviews!
I'm telling you! It's just some dumbass who's seriously jealous. Delete the comment and don't worry about it. You have readers who love you blog and don't give a you-know-what about what some anonymous idiot says. :)
That is really mean. Don't let it get you down. :)
How cruel that someone would have the nerve to say that! The entire reason that publishers have ARCs is to get the word out about a book, the more readers for them the better. Don't let anyone stop you have asking for them.

This is comical. My husband is a reviewer and is contacted constantly by publishing houses for ARCs. Obviously the houses want to get the word out on their books, it helps them sell. The idea that you have to be established to get them is ridiculous. It's up to the publishers (or in some cases authors) who they give these to, and some times new voices are the best.
This commenter is seriously misguided and obviously a bit jealous, though she could start her own blog and try to get the same. Ridiculous
I'm so sorry to hear about this! Being rude to bloggers isn't cool.
We review books because we enjoy reading and sharing our thoughts and opinions with other readers.
So what if you request an ARC or two? The publisher knows that you're a reviewer and therefore it's not a bad thing that book review bloggers are requesting their awesome book? It helps out everyone involved: the publisher/author gets publicity and you the blogger get a first look at their book. Some people are just jealous and don't know how to express themselves at that point. :(
I request ARCs all the time. But only on books I really want, never for just some random book I will never read or review.
And share ARCs? Sure, but it's not a given rule that they must be shared! I personally give most of my ARCs away in contests on my blog. Unless I REALLY loved the book and it's not being released for a while. I do purchase the book if it was just great.
I hope you both don't dwell on the negative comment. :)
